I guess this challenge befalls everyone of us. There are days when we feel down and our flesh would just want to be in control of everything as regards our life. Paul also complains about this in his book saying Romans 7:15
"New International Version
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
New Living Translation
I don't really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do what I hate.
English Standard Version
For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.
New American Standard Bible
For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate."
So what exactly should we do in this regard? This question plagues most christians. But Paul goes around to say again in 1 Corinthians 9:27
New International Version
No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
New Living Translation
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
English Standard Version
But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
New American Standard Bible
but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
King James Bible
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
We would be carrying out a survey soon with most believers having their views and opinions about this topic. Please feel free to comment about this challenge that befalls everyone of us.
